Graphic 45 Off to the Races - Tuxedo Box and a Pop-Up Album - Tutorial

Hello!

Graphic 45 are having a fun blog hop in collaboration with the Scrapbook Adhesives these days (todays is DAY 3). Lots of inspiring projects are showcased for you to have a look over G45 blog, as well as tutorials for you to try.

Along with that, the members of the G45 design team were given an assignment to create a pop-up project in October, so my today's post is dedicated to both of the topics:
- Scrapbook Adhesives Products
- Pop-Up Elements in the Tuxedo Box + Mini Album.

Pop-up becomes now more and more popular in scrapbooking. Crafters seek for something new and unique to add to their creations.

I would like to show you a pop-up mini album, which has 3 pop-up elements’ designs and 6 pocket pages. It can hold 14 pictures of 5” x 3.5” and 6 more pictures of 3” x 4”.

It comes along with a tuxedo shaped box, which was created from scratch out of chipboard. I have been thinking about the shape of the box quite a lot, and looking at the picture on the signature sheet of the “Off to the Races“ collection gave me the final idea. The most inspiring for me personally, funny as it may sound, were the gentlemen’s bows.

I created a fabric bow by myself (using this picture tutorial (in Russian)), to put on top of the box as a finishing touch. I think it adds more character to the whole project and looks much better than if it was made of paper.

The three pop-up designs that I was talking about are called as follows:
- Twisted pop-up panel
- Automatic pull tab
- Z-fold pop-up panel

In the world of card making these 3 designs are very popular now, and since I mostly made cards before I developed my love and passion for mini albums, I decided to adopt the designs for the pages of the mini album.

In the accompanying tutorial, I will show you how to create the tuxedo box, as well as how to create and album with its pages. I hope you will enjoy the tutorial and use the wonderful G45 papers for crafting along.
